SAonline Holdings is comprised of two divisions: 'retail' and 'enterprise'. The retail division owns and operates SAcamera and easyDIGITAL. SAcamera is South Africa’s premiere photographic retailer and has been operating since 2003. easyDIGITAL, launching in 2010, will retail a wide range of digital products online. Both stores operate on a bespoke e-commerce platform, customised by SAonline Holdings. The enterprise division specialises in the development and licensing of web-based software.

e-commerce

SAcamera and easyDIGITAL both operare off a bespoke e-commerce platform. The platform has been developed over a number of years, based on actual e-tail experience.To solve the problem of managing products effectively, integrating accounting systems and offering a full CRM sysem, we dedicated ourselves to developing the optimal webbased solution.

The platform handles virtually every aspect of online retail. It has been described by our developers as ‘a webstore, accounting system, CRM system and ERP system all in one’. The system has been built with scalability in mind. It is developed using PHP and Java to ensure reliability and scalability.

Enterprise

We are passionate about online commerce. We believe that the new economy will increasingly be powered by this intangible interconnected phenomenon that is still only in its infancy. The internet presents businesses with both challenges and opportunities. At SAonline Holdings we are continually assessing where these challenges and opportunities lie in order to devise products or partnerships that will offer sustainable revenue streams and longterm value.

We have recently completed our first stand-alone product – a world class job board platform called ‘JobMamba’.

About Us

SAonline Holdings was founded in 2003 by Jesse Hemson-Struthers and Luke Kelly. The pair have recently been joined by Jody Basson.

The business began with SAcamera, now South Africa’s premiere online photographic retailer. The experience obtained in operating an online store then led to the creation of a standalone solution to online retail – a webstore integrated with an accounting and ERP system. It is this platform that powers what is now the ‘retail’ division of SAonline Holdings – comprising SAcamera and easyDIGITAL.

More recently the company has launched an enterprise division specialising in the development and licensing of web-based software. JobMamba, a world class job board platform, is the first stand-alone web based product in the SAonline stable.

Jesse Hemson-Struthers

Jesse has a passion for startup businesses, having established SAcamera in 2003 while studying a BComm at University of Cape Town. Jesse is an entrepreneur at heart and relishes in the challenge of establishing new ventures.

Luke Kelly

Luke oversees the operational, marketing and management strategy within the SAonline group. Having co-founded SAcamera in 2003, Luke has gained valuable knowledge and insight into the running and management of a successful e-commerce store.

Jody Basson

Jody is in charge of all operational aspects of SAcamera and easyDigital. He heads up SAonline's Sales Team, liases closely with all SAcamera's suppliers to ensure our customers receive the best value for money and after-sales service in South Africa.
